What are Articulate credits and why were they introduced?
Not every AI feature requires the same resources. Generating a quiz question is very different from producing an AI avatar video or translating an entire course into multiple languages.
Everyday AI features remain included in Articulate 360 AI subscriptions, while credits are consumed when using certain advanced workflows.
The advantage? Flexibility. Organizations can plan their credit needs around how they expect to use these capabilities, rather than having every advanced feature included in a fixed subscription price.
How do Articulate 360 AI credits work?
In Articulate 360 AI, credits are currently used for two things: generating AI avatar videos and using multi-format translation. Both are marked in the product with the Nova icon.
All other AI features in Articulate 360 AI are available without using credits. That includes generating training decks, guides, scenarios, interactive videos, editing with AI, block conversion and the AI tutor.
How do Frontline credits work?
In Frontline, credits are used for generating training kits, artifacts, AI avatar videos and multi-format translation. All other AI-powered features in Frontline, including editing generated content, are available without using credits.
How should my organization budget for credits?
Think of credits like fuel for your car. You might know you're driving 100 km tomorrow, but you wouldn't fill up with just enough fuel for that one journey. You use your car regularly and you know you'll need fuel again.
The same applies to credits. Start with what you've already planned: course translations, AI videos or upcoming projects. But don't stop there.
Articulate is continuing to develop new AI capabilities and your teams may discover new ways to use them that you haven't considered yet.
The goal isn't to predict every credit you'll consume, but to budget realistically for today's needs while leaving room for tomorrow' s opportunities.
Of course, flexibility doesn't mean buying more than you'll use. Understanding consumption and planning ahead remain important.

What do Nova and Frontline bring to the picture?
Nova supports advanced AI workflows, including AI avatar videos and translation into more than 80 languages, helping teams reduce production time while keeping people responsible for reviewing the results.
Frontline extends Articulate's capabilities beyond traditional L&D teams.
Across organizations, valuable expertise is scattered between documents, presentations and the people who hold it. Some of it never gets documented and when employees leave, that knowledge can disappear with them.
Frontline helps subject matter experts capture and share their knowledge, connecting with the tools organizations already use and the wider Articulate ecosystem.
It's an opportunity to make better use of existing expertise while L&D continues to guide quality, consistency and learning outcomes.
What should organizations take away?
Articulate isn't replacing its existing subscription pricing. It's introducing an additional model to support a growing range of AI capabilities.
For organizations, this means thinking beyond licence counts and planning how AI could support their teams, both today and as new capabilities become available.
At TicTac Learn, we help customers understand the model, anticipate their requirements and make informed decisions about their Articulate investment.
