Background
Marlink Group is a global provider of managed connectivity and digital services, including cyber security, for maritime, offshore and other remote or mission-critical operations. As part of its transformation into a managed and professional services provider, Marlink has seen a significant cultural shift in learning. The company has broadened its learning offering from product training to a comprehensive range of initiatives – utilizing both LinkedIn Learning and its internal platform, the Marlink Training Academy.

The challenge
Marlink had a small central L&D team and a global workforce requesting training solutions and engaging in learning initiatives on an increasing scale. The small L&D team was about to become a bottleneck.
Marlink needed a way to scale without compromising quality or speed. An authoring tool alone would not solve the resource challenge. But if subject matter experts could be given more autonomy to create content, this could be a smart way to scale.
At the same time, Marlink’s business required a multilingual offering. That meant going beyond English to deliver high-quality learning in four languages – efficiently and at scale.
The solution



Marlink chose Articulate 360 and found its authoring tools intuitive and flexible, depending on the needs of the user. Articulate Rise is intuitive enough to allow subject matter experts without a design background to create clear, structured learning. Articulate Storyline, on the other hand, has opened almost unlimited possibilities for creating engaging, customized courses.
Marlink started with three Articulate licences and soon expanded to ten, upgrading to include AI features and the localization tool. These additions enabled faster, more flexible content creation across the business – by the people closest to the subject.
The ability to tailor formats to each learning experience and involve more colleagues in course production quickly proved valuable.
To ensure a smooth start, TicTac Learn ran onboarding sessions focused on the parts of Storyline and Rise most relevant for Marlink’s content creators. Follow-up sessions and additional training were arranged whenever new creators joined.
Despite the initial learning curve, SMEs quickly became confident in using the platform. Company templates allow them to create and localize high-quality training tailored to their audiences and aligned with business needs.
Impact
The shift to a decentralized content model has paid off. Course production is faster, more people are involved and the L&D team can focus on strategic initiatives while supporting SMEs in their learning journeys.
Thanks to Articulate Localization, Marlink has also streamlined content delivery to field service partners across regions – supporting a more consistent and efficient learning experience.
