TicTac receives award for language-neutral eLearning

The eLearning Journal awards TicTac Learn their Promotions category AWARD 2024 for “Cleaning made easy: Language-neutral eLearning”.

Our client hollu Systemhygiene GmbH presented us with a challenge – to create eLearning that bypasses linguistic, written and auditory barriers. To do that without relying on course translations and adaptations to cultural circumstances, we had to completely rethink the transfer of knowledge.

A multilingual workforce

In an industry where language barriers present daily challenges for employers and staff alike, equipping cleaning staff from various language backgrounds with the knowledge they need about different cleaning processes is crucial. Doing so in a practical and efficient manner is a huge time and cost saver.

The project

The project, which started in 2022 and was completed in 2023, involved close collaboration between TicTac’s experts and those of hollu Systemhygiene GmbH. A detailed concept was developed, centred on the visuals of different rooms that needed cleaning.

We used the animation tool Vyond, with assets created in Vyond or uploaded from the marketing department of hollu Systemhygiene.

The scenes were integrated into the Articulate Storyline 360 authoring tool to create interactive elements and a dynamic learning experience.

The final course is now available on hollu Systemhygiene’s LMS, making it possible for them to follow up on their learners’ progress.

A success among employees

The project was met with great enthusiasm by hollu Systemhygiene’s employees, as it solves not only the language problem of the previous onboarding, but also helps to keep consistent quality in the cleaning processes. Another plus is the possibility of learners to complete the course independently, without a fixed time and location.
